Winter Drinks

Here are a few ideas for some delicious winter time drinks. When the weather gets cold, nothing sounds better than sitting by a fire with a steaming cup of a coffee and chocolate drink. But think hot chocolate and coffee with a spin…

Coconut Hot Chocolate:

This makes enough for 5 people, but you may just want it all for yourself.

Ingredients:

3 cups milk

14 ounce can unsweetened coconut milk

2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Whipped cream and chocolate shavings optional

Directions:

Simmer the milk, condensed milk, and coconut milk, stirring occasionally. Whisk in cocoa powder until well combined. Take off heat and add vanilla. Fill mugs and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if wanted. Slurp away!

Mocha:

A delicious combination of coffee and chocolate, we can’t get enough of it! Recipe gives one servcing.

Ingredients:

1 cup coffee

3 tablespoons chocolate pieces

1 tablespoon sugar

1/4 cup half and half

Directions:

Combine coffee, chocolate, and sugar in a saucepan and cook for 2 or 3 minutes until the chocolate is melted and the sugar is dissolved. Pour the mixture into a mug, leaving room for the half and half. In another saucepan heat up the half and half and once warm pour it into the coffee mixture. Enjoy!

Raspberry Tea:

6 servings of delicious berry tea!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup slightly thawed raspberries
  • 2 cups brewed tea
  • 2 cups cranberry-raspberry juice
  • 1 cup made lemonade
  • 1/4 cup water
  •  Allspice
  • Sugar (optional)
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced

Directions:

Mash the raspberries with a potato masher in a large saucepan.  Stir in tea, juice, lemonade, allspice, and water. Bring to a boil then simmer for ten minutes. Strain and remove fruit pulp and spices. Pour into mugs, add desired sugar, lemon and raspberries. So good!
