Pasta Dough

Want to please your family and friends with an amazing homemade meal? If so, we would recommend making a homemade pasta dough and whipping up your favorite sauce. You’ll need to own a pasta machine and if you  don’t have one…get one! They allow for so much fun when making meals and it makes you feel as if you’re a real chef! The dough is pretty messy and usually needs to be tampered with but it’s easily worth the work. Here’s what you’ll need:

 

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  •  2 cups semolina flour
  •  1 pinch salt
  •  6 large eggs
  •  2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions: Sift flour, semolina flour, and salt. On a clean. flat surface, make a mountain of the mixture and a deep hole in the center, breaking eggs into the whole and adding the olive oil. Whisk lightly with a fork, slowly adding the flour on the sides. When it’s too thick to whisk, begin kneading with your hands. Knead the dough until it is smooth, about 8 to 12 minutes. Dust it with semolina to keep it from being too sticky.  After, wrap it tightly in plastic for about 30 minutes at room temperature.  Roll out your dough to your favorite shape, boil it for 1 to 8 minutes and serve with a yummy sauce!
